Destination Dubai works closely together with assistant Professor Robert Govers of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. During his four-year PhD studies in Dubai, he also investigated the ‘sense of place’ of the country. This is a concept that says everything about the unique experience of a place and the expectations it creates, which is becoming more and more important in this globalising society . Robert Govers: “Up until now, Dubai has more than fulfilled the expectations of tourists. My own experience confirms that the developments in Dubai are impressive. It is difficult to explain what is happening over there, you should really go and see it with your own eyes. It is a one-of-a-kind destination.”
